Father is a short film for Volkswagen, directed by Marcus Alqueres with O2 Filmes and AlmapBBDO. A daughter drives her late father's Golf GTI, and the road becomes a way back to him, through photographs, a darkroom, and the small things a parent leaves behind.
Made to live on the web and carry a product truth without ever selling, the film ties the Golf's City Emergency Brake to the oldest promise there is: someone watching out for you. It was selected for the Young Director Award in Cannes, the only Latin American entry in the WebFilm category.
A father, remembered
He was a photographer. The film lingers in his world, the red glow of the darkroom, a box of prints, a snapshot of him with his boy, so that by the time the story moves, you already miss him too.

Her father's car
The Golf GTI is the thread. It carries her through memory and back into the present, an everyday drive that quietly holds everything she inherited.

Protected, the way a father would
The payoff is a feeling, not a feature list. When the car's City Emergency Brake steps in, it lands like a hand on the wheel, the sense that, somehow, he's still looking out for her.
